Making things in the writing classroom

This course interprets MSU's shared FYW curriculum through a multimodal lens, asking student writers to engage new forms of writing (zines, chacter sheets, social media posts) as a way to surface the values and expectations we collectivly hold of academic writing, in tandem with readings and discussions about the racialized, classed, and gendered histories of "good writing." I have included two out of five project descriptions here, but I am happy to share more by request.
